Intro
Riptide is a space naval combat game developed as part of the Senior Capstone project at Champlain College. The development was led by myself and Brian Babineaux. My roles included Co-Project Lead, Lead Artist and Technical Artist. My lead responsibilities included managing a team of 5 artists, directing meetings and serving as a point of contact between disciplines. My technical art responsibilities included creating procedural environmental tools, VFX creation, Python automation scripting, and other tools for artists and designers.

Background
Riptide was in development between September 2023 and May 2024. The development team started at 9 developers who worked on a prototype until November 2023. The team presented at a production greenlight in which five teams out of ten were selected to move forward. Our team moved forward and onboarded the developers who’s games did not pass. After this our team size grew to 17 total developers. The game was released on Steam in May 2024.
